THREE DIE FROM INJURIES

     

Road Accidents


     Three men—a cyclist, a pedestrian, and a passenger in a sidecar—died at the week-end from injuries received in road accidents

     Knocked down by a car in Lake road Albert Park on Saturday, John Somer, aged 48 years, of Raglan street, South Melbourne died in the Alfred Hospital from fractures of both legs and severe head injuries.

     An unidentified man died in the same hospital from head injuries suffered when his bicycle and a car collided in Glenferrie road, near the Malvern Town Hall on Friday night.

     Terence Buckley, aged 23 years, of Amess street, North Carlton, died in St. Vincents Hospital yesterday from head injuries. He was travelling in the sidecar of a motor-cycle driven by his father Ernest Buckley, aged 52 years, which came into collision with a taxi-cab at the corner of Canning and Curtain streets, Carlton. Ernest Buckley was treated for shock.
